Set in the foothills of the French Pyrenees, southwest France, Ekuthuleni is surrounded by hills, forest and wild thyme.

Small and simple can be beautiful and a great support for meditation, for feeling the richness of presence and what is already here. There is delight, care and creativity in what we provide, more comfort than you might imagine for a wild retreat! With a max of about 15 places for each retreat, a taste of what is here:

  • large group meditation platform in the trees (a real tree temple!)

  • Covered retreat kitchen, dining shelter and meditation hall for if the weather turns..

  • Eco shower with warm water from a solar water heater & a compost toilet with a forest view.

  • good plentiful vegetarian food - supporting local, organic and seasonal, and goodies from the garden

For basic equipment we provide individual tents (each on their own wonderful platforms in the forest) and a foam mattress for each person. We also have meditation cushions.

It’s easier to come with a rucksack than a suitcase with wheels!

You'll need to bring common sense things for retreat, camping and different weathers such as:

Meditation platform
in the trees
Individual tents with foam mattresses on platforms
Outdoor kitchen
Indoor kitchen
New sheltered eating area
New indoor meditation hall

In my travels I spent time with a great yogi. Once he said to me,

“Become so still you hear the blood flowing
   Through your veins.”
One night as I sat in quiet, I seemed on the verge of entering a world inside so vast
I know it is the source of all of us. Mira
