This meditation retreat will be a "Yatra": a meditative walking retreat, with dhamma talks, guided & silent meditation times, poetry sharings, community life together in a friendly campsite by a river & time to breath the fresh air of the high mountains with many quiet lakes.
This 7 day retreat will mix silent moments, (while walking in single file) ,& moments of community life in speech. We will meditate together at the campsite by the river before breakfast, walk a few hours with stops for a guided meditation,( or silent), a dhamma talk & a sandwich lunch break before walking back to the campsite. We will have moments to share poetry & chanting, & moments to meet each other & connect, help prepare sandwiches for the next day or supper for the evening meal.
The lovely campsite we have found has a large section we can use just for us, with a small bit of forest in it & a private area by the river both great places for meditation. There are some walks along the flat by the river for the first day or two, then some walks up higher to beautiful lakes. These walks do not require a high level of fitness but obviously cannot be done with something like a weak ankle or other.......

PAST RETREATS PICTURES
Retreatants will join us by coming by train, (the "Train Jaune", a small tourist train that comes up the mountain from two directions is an adventure in itself with an open compartment at the back). The Ekuthuleni team will bring a large tent for cooking inside in case of bad weather, a cooker & fridge, & plenty of food. We will also bring some small tents & blankets; you will need to bring your own sleeping mat and sleeping bag. You are also welcome to bring your own tent if you wish - please let us know beforehand!
This retreat will be offered on dana for the teachings as usual, & the cost of the campsite & food will be paid in advance by retreatants. Association Ekuthuleni has its own insurance for retreats in nature with groups, & we ask that you also have your own health insurance.
